We noticed something about most hill stays - you either get a very budget option with limited facilities, or a luxury property most people simply can't afford. There wasn't much in between. We wanted to build something that sits right in that gap, genuinely budget-friendly, but with a luxury feel - full facilities, real views, and homemade food that actually tastes like the hills, not a hotel kitchen.
That's also why Kanatal Majestic has both camps and cottages - because not every guest wants the same thing, and I didn't want to choose between them. More than that, we wanted this to be a place almost anyone could enjoy - school and college students on a trip, families, couples looking for a quiet weekend, even someone travelling alone. A lot of hill properties are really built with just one kind of guest in mind. We wanted ours to work just as well whether you're arriving with your whole family or completely on your own.
Even as we've grown to 15 camps and cottages, we're still involved in this place day to day. It's easy to lose that personal touch once a property gets bigger , We didn't want to lose it here. Every guest who's left a kind word about the food, the view, or the way they were looked after - that's the whole point. That's why we do this
